Jim
and Charlene have been married for 23 years and have two teenage
daughters, Meredith (20) and Shannon (18). The Harpers have lived in
the western metro of Minneapolis since 1985.
Jim graduated from the University of
Minnesota and worked in Corporate America for over 20 years before
deciding in 2003 to get his insurance licenses to
help individuals, families and businesses with their insurance needs
and to help them plan their financial future. Jim currently serves
on the board of two organizations: (1) a pharmaceutical engineering
company called
Mediscovery, Inc. and (2)
Mission
Assist Foundation. Jim holds insurance licenses for Life, Accident, Health, and
Property and Casualty (personal and commercial lines) for the states
of Minnesota and Wisconsin.
Charlene graduated from Syracuse
University in New York and she spent over 20 years of her career as
a software analyst for several large organizations that included the
University of Minnesota Data Processing Center, the Federal Reserve
Bank, and the Star Tribune newspaper. Charlene holds insurance
licenses for Life, Accident, Health, and Property and Casualty
(personal and commercial lines) for the state of Minnesota, and her
desire is to help individuals and families plan for the unexpected
by teaching them how insurance can be an effective tool in
significantly reducing the risk to families and their financial
future (e.g., loss of income, short or long-term disability, death),
as well as protecting families and their personal property from
liability (i.e., a law suit) in case an accident happens.
Meredith is a junior at the University
of Minnesota and is in the College of Liberal Arts (CLA). Meredith
was a National Honor Society recipient at Wayzata High School and
was active in basketball, soccer and volleyball. Her current areas
of interest are studying, rooting for the Gophers, and staying in
close contact with all of her friends from high school.
Shannon is a freshman at the University of Minnesota and is in the
College of Biological Sciences (CBS). Like her older sister, Shannon
was also a National Honor Society recipient at Wayzata High School.
Since she was a young girl, Shannon has also been active in many
sports - her favorites being basketball and soccer. In her spare
time Shannon works part-time at one of the local businesses in
Wayzata.
